When Should You Take your Senior Photos?

Senior Photos can be done anywhere from spring of your junior year through spring of your senior year.   If you go through some of the questions below it can help you decide when you should do yours.    Planning in advance means you get your ideal look, and you get them delivered in time to use them. Read through the questions below.

How will you use them?

Do you need them for a graduation announcement or invitation? Will they be hung on the family wall? Christmas presents for grandparents? Used for social media, a headshot or application? Once you know when you need them, plan to get the shoot done at least two months before the need.

Weather Sensitive?

Think about how much weather impacts your mood and the look you want.    If you're wearing a suit in 90 degrees will you be OK?  If you have the perfect sundress how will that do in 30 degrees?    Plan in advance for the weather you prefer.

Think about your look

What's the look you want to capture?  Do you like the idea of a pretty coat and scarf - maybe with snow in the background? Or   pastels and cherry blossoms in the spring? Do you want to wear a sundress in the middle of summer?  Maybe sweaters and fall colors is your thing.  If you know what you want to wear, it will influence what season you choose for the photos.
